 Somerset Wish Breaks Her Maiden!

Somerset Wish (above) notches her first win on Father's Day in a $25,000 maiden claiming sprint!  Wish, owned in partnership under the Star of the North umbrella had a nice stalking trip under AA Morales to win by 1 3/4 lengths. Fizzy Pop followed up his last win with a strong second place showing stepping up in allowance company on June 19th.  Keep track on our latest news page or with Ted's Blog.   Please let us know if you want to get on our e-mailing list for the next partnership for the 2008/09 Racing Season.

Always Wanted to Own a Racehorse?

Race horse ownership, both thoroughbred and standardbred (harness), is an exciting but challenging endeavor.  Racing and breeding partnerships have become a popular way of spreading the joys, while mitigating the risks, of ownership.  We all have dreams of claiming the next John Henry, or building the next Sackatoga or Dogwood Stables.  At GRS, we have high aspirations, but are realistic in our approach to the horse racing and ownership business.  Even the greatest like Man o' War and Secretariat lost races, so we know that it is not possible to win them all, but by working closely with quality trainers, knowledgeable advisors and performing thorough research, we will try to spot the best opportunities at a reasonable price.

We are on the lookout to form new racing partnerships.  We will be running at Canterbury Park this summer with a 4-year old gelding  named Fizzy Pop.  Fizzy won on May 25th over the turf course for group 1 partners.
