Fizzy is heading out to Mike Biehler's farm in Oklahoma for some R&R before heading to Florida for some additional rest when the weather turns in a month or so. He'll be back in training in December and back in action at Tampa Bay in January. After nine months without a break, this hard trying gelding has earned a few months off!

After breaking a little slow, AA Morales urged Wish close to the pace through most of the 6 furlongs. She briefly took the lead entering the stretch and thrn fought back with the grit and determination that hallmarked her career to win by the smallest of noses! Wish will now head out to a polo farm in Wisconsin to spend her retirement years. Congratulations to all the connections of Somerset Wish!!

Fizzy Pop closed steadily through the stretch, just missed by a neck, but was placed first through a disqualification in a $25,000 Optional Claiming event at Canterbury Park. Fizzy absolutely ran his race trailing a quick pace and closing steadily through the lane. It's a different route to the win, but a win is a win! Congratulations to all the Group 1 partners on another fine effort by the Fiz. See the chart here.

Dean Butler had Sam poised just off the pacesetter and then jetted on by to win his maiden victory in the nightcap at Canterbury Park last night, a 5.5 furlong sprint $10,000 maiden claiming contest. Sammy'll get some well deserved time off and then David and Bernell will find his next spot. Click here for the chart.

After having a tough time settling in early, Fizzy Pop rallied 7 wide in the stretch to get up for second in an $18,000 Allowance race going a mile on the turf at Canterbury Park today. There was no hole late, so Dean Butler had to pilot Fizzy around all the traffic and did a nice job to get a nose up for second. Look for Fiz back on the turf at this level in a few weeks. Click here for Fizzy's chart.

Somerset Wish stalked the early pace and ran down the leaders in the stretch to break her maiden in a $25,000 Maiden Claiming race at Canterbury Park on June 15th. Wish has been close in all her career starts and this time she put it all together! Congratulations to the entire group! I wish I could have been there for this one, but I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling face in the winner's circle photo! Read Wish's winning chart here!

Fizzy Pop dominated a field of $16,000 claimers at Canterbury Park today under a confident trip by Dean Butler. Butler guided the 4 year old gelding over the turf course in striking position, moved him to the outside, tapped him three times as he shot to the lead and then put the whip away to ride him out under the wire to win by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:36.17. Congratulations to all the partners of GRS #1 on their win. Here is the chart of the race.
