The 2010 Claiming Group claimed it's first horse through our trainer Bernell Rhone on February 18.  Tabby Lane is a 4 year old filly (Even the Score-Keeley Chay-Rodeo) who was up for grabs in a $10,000 claiming race.  She won going away giving her back to back wins and three out of her last four after taking a while to break her maiden.  We should see her back in action at Tampa in March.

GRS Managing Partner Ted Grevelis teamed with 3 California based partners to buy a 10% stake in Cal-bred gelding Diplo, a three year old gelded son of Pleasant Tap.  Diplo should be starting his 3-year old campaign in mid-February.  Stay tuned for updates!

Fizzy Pop was claimed from us last evening after finishing third in a $10,000 claiming race at Remington Park.  Fizzy broke a bit slow, but steadily made up ground along the back side.  He was fanned wide for the drive, was blocked heading into the lane, but still had enough steam to finish 3rd.  Best of luck to Fizzy and his new connections.  He was a favorite and will be missed by all of us connected to him.

Fizzy Pop tracked the leader through the race but could only muster a 3rd place showing at Canterbury Park this evening.  Winner Just A Nibble blister a :22.2 opening quarter but then slowed the field over an almost :49 next half leaving enough to reserve to hold of stablemates Onotheregoestokyo and Fizzy.

Fizzy Pop changed his running style a bit and this time went wire to wire for a head victory in a $16,000 claiming race over the turf at Canterbury Park going a mile and 16th.  Jockey Dean Butler found himself on an easy lead after a great start, angled Fizzy to the rail and paced the gelding brilliantly hold off challenges including a final lunge by stablemate Beau Named Sue.  Congratulations to all the partners!!
